I am running for the CSMLS Board of Director position because I care deeply about the future of our profession and the people entering it. 

I am bilingual (French and English) and have been a Medical Laboratory Assistant since 2019. I currently work as the Interim Program Coordinator, Instructor and Clinical Coordinator for the MLA and MLT programs at Oulton College, in New Brunswick, in addition to working casually as an MLA at Georges-Dumont Hospital. Every day, I work closely with students as they prepare to enter the workforce and with clinical sites who support their training. This gives me a clear view of both the challenges and opportunities within our field. 

I want to help strengthen the connection between CSMLS, students, and working professionals across Atlantic Canada. I want to improve communication, increase visibility, and encourage engagement with our national association. 

I am organized, approachable, and committed to representing our region with professionalism and honesty. Being bilingual and actively involved both in the field and in education allows me to connect with a wide range of members and understand different perspectives across our region. 

If elected, my goal is to ensure the voices of medical laboratory professionals are heard, supported, and included in national conversations. I want members in Canada to feel informed, represented, and proud to be part of this profession. 

It would be an honor to be elected to the Board of Directors and contribute to the continued growth and strength of CSMLS.

My name is Isabella Sibbick, and I am 22 years old from Prince Edward Island, Canada. I have been working in the hospital laboratory setting in both procurement and data entry since the fall of 2022 and have been in a supervisor role since the fall of 2025. Working in a small province has been rewarding in many ways. Stepping into a supervisor role has opened my eyes to the behind-the-scenes changes and procedures that I didn't see every day or wasn't previously aware of. 

I am excited to branch out from my small island and learn how other provinces and laboratories operate and navigate the challenges they face. I would love to be a voice and advocate within the CSMLS for changes that benefit all members and patients alike. The knowledge I've gained from the educational side of CSMLS has been outstanding, and I believe the Board and committee side would be just as impactful. I am eager to make a meaningful contribution within the laboratory setting-locally, provincially, and at the national level-if given the opportunity. 

My main goals in running for national office are to be a voice for change and to advocate for laboratory professionals who work in rural and smaller-scale settings compared to larger laboratories across the country. I also aim to advocate for Medical Laboratory Assistants to practice to our full scope and full potential by supporting and promoting any opportunities available. If given the opportunity, being a part of the CSMLS Board would be a welcomed opportunity in my career.
